YouTube - Fairport Convention - Now Be Thankful
Tonight is "pie night", where the ladies bake the pies that we will shamelessly consume Thursday afternoon. Although I'm not a part of the baking crew, it makes me feel good about our family to know that my mom, sister, wife, and daughters continue to observe this tradition that my mom started years ago.
Sounds pretty Father Knows Bestish.
I went to the gym and ran a light workout. The thudthudthud sound of my feet on the platform tells me I'm weak and tired.... but I had a nice visit with a friend who works there. I'm looking forward to doing whatever I can at the race Thursday morning. Robin is bringing my grandson (we call 'Man) out to the 5 mile mark and that will be something to look forward to...
Tomorrow morning we have our weekly family breakfast at the restaurant around the corner.
I have been negotiating with a gal about buying a house that I ran across about 6 months ago. The lady who lived there suffered from depression and had no family or friends to keep tabs on the conditions she was living in. Long story short...someone figured it out, some social services department stepped in and took her away and emptied the house and condemned it.
My intention is to buy it and fix it with the help of my son-in-law and have my oldest daughter and her family live there until they can afford to buy it. It is a huge task but I guess we have tackled bigger jobs before.
I'm thankful for having a Dad that taught me how to work with my hands.
